Justice League | Review
It’s no secret that DCU/Warner Brothers have had quiet a difficult time with its own shared cinematic superhero universe, but with is summer’s success of Wonder Woman, and the departure of director, Zack Snyder/ the hiring of Joss Whedon the franchise and movie would yak a step in the right direction. These were our thoughts as we awaited the screening of the movie. The movie opens with “found footage style shots” (similar to the opening of Spider-Man: Homecoming) of children asking Superman questions. It’s both indenting strong, with an epic fight scene between the Amazons, Atlantans
Batman:
Wonder Woman:
Aqua Man:
The Flash:
Cyborg:
Superman:
Steppenwolf:
Pros:
- Zack Snyder’s exit from the franchise/DCU.
- The quick easter egg from issues 199 of Superman in the comics, when The Flash and Superman race to see who’s the world’s fastest superhero.
- Gal Gadot’s portrayal of Wonder Woman is much like in BvS is the best thing about the movie.
Cons:
- Flash’s jokes or both cringe worthy and show the intellectual writing of an awful SNL scratch.
- Ben Affleck’s bland portrayal of a now lighter toned Bruce Wayne/Batman.
- Non committal Batman/Wonder Woman relationship story arch that was eluded to yet never portrayed on scene.
Final Verdict: Zack Snyder’s final movie is a mess and even Joss couldn’t save it. If you are on a ten hour plus flight to Europe or Australia and it is for free…then maybe. Otherwise, it’s useless as far as the potential DCU other movies and we suggest to skip it.
