Hermès 2013 Fall/Winter Collection

Honed on a certain casual elegance for 2013 fall/winter, Hermès‘ men’s universe designer Véronique Nichanian has offered a welcome deviation from the stereotypical extravagance of high fashion. Included are classic items such as duffle, trench and pea coats as well as an evident addition of turtlenecks, all reworked with fitted tailoring in agreeable colorways while maintaining the appeal of a wearable garment. Relaxed knitwear and outerwear develop into slightly dressier pieces, with double breasted jackets and blazers with narrow lapels styled in a manner which hints at Nichanian’s meditation on modern suiting. The brand’s luxury sportswear heritage is not forgotten, being reflected in subtly striped pieces in the collection, as well as a notable selection of black hiking boots with contrasting yellow and orange laces.
