Hercules | Review

This film is based of the graphic novels titled The Thracian Wars and The Knives of Kush,Hercules tells the tale of a man haunted by the sins of his past, and he turns to being a mercenary to ease the pain. Unlike the fabled Greece mythology, the hero is joined by five faithful companions, he travels ancient Greece selling his services for gold and using his legendary reputation to intimidate enemies. When the benevolent ruler of Thrace’s daughter seeks Hercules’ help to defeat a savage and terrifying warlord. Hercules finds that in order for good to triumph and justice to prevail… he must again become the hero his myth speaks of.

Though it is base on a comic book mini series the film opens with a telling of the Greece mythology. We see the laborers he has to face leading up to the legend behind his name. Soon after we met his band of misfits along with his nephew,and we slowly see the his legend may be little more than finally crafted story telling. Thanks in part to his nephews gift of crafting imaginative tales,and who is conveniently about to be executed when Hercules arrives to save him.

Verdict: If you are a fan of the Dwayne Johnson’s films you will enjoy this , if not it is worth seeing at least once.
