The Amazing Spider-Man 2 | Review
The first in our 2014 Guide To Summer Films list, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Marvel’s second of four films this year, and have teased since the Super Bowl that this film will be not only closer to the comics but a slightly darker take on Marvel’s favorite character. With all the teasers from last year, and the trailers this year it seems like this was an accurate statement. The sequel introduces both Harry Osbourne (who will later become “The Green Goblin”) Aleksei Mikhailovich Sytsevich (The Rhino), and Max Dillon (Electro) to the Spider -Man universe. With promises a less comical approach to this rebooted universe, and promises to do what fans have missed I the previous franchise’s lack of understanding of his parents. Coupled with Sony/Marvel’s extensive advertising campaign the film has quite the buzz ,and is slated to be one of the biggest films of the year.
From the moment the film start it is very obvious that this is a far better franchise than the previous one. Long time fans have often wondered when the true story of Peter Parker’s partners will be revealed on the big screen. Many versions of Spider-Man’s origin have been told over the years, but one thing stays constant. The mystery of his parents. Some versions say they were spies, others they were CIA operatives.
Verdict: If you are a true fan you will love this, and if you are not you will become one. See it now ,and see it in IMAX 3D
