Legendary drummer/vocalist Levon Helm, who sadly died of throat cancer in 2012, will be celebrated in the new documentary “Ain’t in It for My Health,” chronicling the ailing musician’s life during the production of his Grammy-winning comeback album, 2007’s Dirt Farmer. Shot over a course of two years, filmmaker Jacob Hatley intimately followed the Southern-born folk rocker as he made his triumphant return to the music scene (which came at the same time as Helm was suffering through numerous hospital visits and treatments). The film is getting a small theatrical release this month, including New York’s Cinema Village on April 19th.
