Sinners | Review
Normally to us here at TheLifeStyleElite.com horror hasn’t been horror since the 80’s (actually quote from the founder and C.E.O.), and none are actually worth reviewing. With Sinners, we felt it is more like Get Out, not so much a jump scare type of horror, but more of a psychological thriller with horror elements.
Smoke (Elijah Moore)
Smoke (quite possibly named for either the fact that he smokes a lot or a play on the fact he is very quick to pull a gun on a foe) is rather notorious for his violent ways, yet known for his level-headed thinking and planning.
Stack (Elias Moore)
Stack (we think is named for his ability to earn/his money-making ideas) is the dreamer of the two brothers.
Sammie Moore
Sammie the cousin to twins, is the son of the town’s preacher, Jedidiah.
Delta-Slim
A small-town blues legend, Delta Slim is known throughout the Mississippi Delta area he resides for playing the harmonica. And is offered more than he makes a night at his current gig to play in the twins’ new juke joint. (including all the Irish beer he can drink a night)
Mary
Seemingly out of place at the Juke Joint, but later we find she was raised nearly her entire life with the twins (Smoke/Stack); all while blending in at a time when knowing her true past would have gotten her killed.
Beatrice
Pearline
Hogwood
The mysterious realtor selling the Smoke-Stack twins the “old sawmill” property…but not is all as it seems.
Cornbread
Remmick
Is a Luciferian like character literally coming to the cast as an “angel of light” wanting only to bring them music, and pay in gold to drink and meraly join the party inside.
Pros:
- The slow burn (pace of the story)
- The blues music.
- Buddy Guy
Cons:
- Remmick is an interesting character but we did wish there was more offered about who he was. As his background sounded very interesting.
Finale Verdict: It’s no secret we are huge fans of the blues, and that coupled with the interesting take on the Vampire genre makes this a recommendation. See it now, see it in IMAX, and buy it in 4K Blu Ray.
