2022 Year End Review
This has been quite the year, with the launch of our official online store, our company’s ten year anniversary, our digital magazine redesign, even more film/console games reviews With another year winding down we take a look back at the best and worst of 2022.
The Best Films of 2022
For the first time in a long time, we were able to review films the way they were meant to be be seen…..in IMAX.
The Batman
Top Gun: Maverick
What can be said, this is how you do a sequel just enough nostalgia to keep the original fans happy, and enough action to convert a new generation. Though the original 1986 film was for many of us one of the best of the 80s action genre, the sequel brings closure to Maverick in was we didn’t know we needed. Finding peace, a new family, and Rooster coming into his own.
Honorable Mention
Elvis
The Best Television 2021
The Bear
The After Party
Cobra Kia (Season 5)
DayShift
Stranger Things (Season 4)
It’s no secret many of us here at TheLifeStyleElite.com and many of our readers didn’t like season 3 of Stranger Things.
Terminal List
Billions (Season 6)
Peacemaker
Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty
The Offer
Tokyo Vice
This show makes us miss Tokyo,
Honorable Mention
Facing Nolan
Werewolf by Night
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners
It’s no secret we weren’t fans of CyberPunk 2077, or the PS5 version we reviewed (not even Keanu could save this), but when it came to the
Black Adam
The Gray Man
This had a rather impressive cast, Chris Evans, Ryan Gosling, Billy Bob Thorton, and Ana De Armas. First off let’s be honest, we are all huge fans of Ana De Armas, we would watch just about anything she’s starring in. This was no exception, the Russo Brothers brought there signature humor mixed with action, and everyone was cast perfectly. Ana’s actions scenes were literally what we all wanted more of
The Best in Gaming of 2022
With ringing in of 2022 finally came the release of more for gaming here are the best console games we played this year.
Sifu
Honorable Mention
The Worst of 2022
With the best comes, unfortunately, the worst and in 2021 we have an abnormal amount of entertainment we did not like.
The Worst Films of 2022
As most of the world is locked down many films did not release during the summer as they normally do, and though there were only a few films we were able to review here are the ones that did make the cut.
Thor: Love and Thunder
Morbius
The Worst Television of 2021
Just as this year had bad movies it’s had so rather awful television shows. Here is our list of the worst we watched on television and due to current circumstances the world finds itself in there were big-screen blockbuster movies that were released on streaming platforms. Because of this, we have placed a few movies releases that were available the same day in the television category.
Prey
If you are a fan of the lore of the original, you will notice many things in this does not stand up to scrutiny. It’s a very well known fact that all predators do not hunt
Obi-Wan Kenobi
Though part of the Darth Vader/Obi-Wan’s fight was impressive visually, the swap of the co-star (Luke for Princess Leia) does effect the plot
Ms. Marvel
This show in to be another in long line of bad Disney + shows, Ms. Marvel, much like the game that was centered around her this show is not good. It feels like a cheap version of a CW superhero show. The characters miss the mark and is just overall boring.
Halo
For many fans of the wildly successful Xbox franchise, Halo‘s initial announcement met with excitement. After all the long standing franchise has decades of lore to draw from which was very promising. Unfortunately after the first episode it was clear the rumors of the creative team behind the show had never played the games. A confident Solider who never removed his helmet quickly became a dime store version of of The Mandalorian
Vikings: Valhalla
Bel Air
For many of us, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air was our childhood, widely concerted to be one of NBC’s greatest shows, this new unwanted reboot is like many modern-day reboots they take liberties with the source material in ways they change the magic the original had. In this reboot, beloved Carlton Banks isn’t a lovable goofball, but now is an arrogant, drug-addicted, spoiled rich kid who does several underhanded things to destroy his cousin Will’s life. Hillary and Aunt Viv’s feud unlike the original seems deep-seeded distain for each other, Ashley Bank is nothing like her original fun curious, child is now just a throwaway character that slightly appears in and out of a few episodes.
Uncle Phil isn’t the Judge we knew, running for district attorney. In doing so he primarily is having a somewhat mid-life crisis towing the line with his family obligations and his political message. The only interesting characters in the show seems the be the reimagined Jazzy Jeff a Uber driver and record shop owner, and Jeffery who’s now title is now “house manager”/head or security with MI6 style skills. Granted we understand this is supposed to be a darker take on the beloved comedy classic, but to completely make all the characters we loved become somewhat hated from the start makes this very unwatchable.
Yes, we understand that this will give them a chance to grow as characters, but it is just a range and weird departure Our advice would have been to just create a completely new series without tarnishing the good name of the original show.
She-Hulk
From the first episode it’s clear Bruce Banner‘s cousin, Jennifer, is a Mary Sue (Someone who has all the talent and skill without working for them), she doesn’t have to work to control her Hulk form (though she almost kills a group of men in the first episode. She has friends that are mean and mistreat her and she just accepts this, despite supposedly this was a comedy it is not very funny. Jennifer Walters as an attorney is very boring this is by far the most unentertaining, nonsensical Marvel Studios show. The only real interesting characters were ng.
disHonorable Mention
Moon Knight
Biggest Disappointment of 2021
As previously mentioned we have viewed a lot of entertainment this year and nothing has been more disappointing and unnecessary than this year’s selection.

This year was interesting oddly enough it seems there was a lot of cinema (on both the silver screen and the small screen), but as 2022 brings a new year, its actually a very special year for us that will bring many new exciting changes to a lot here at TheLifeStyl
