Designer and watch fanatic Alejandro Alcocer advances his range of limited edition custom matte black Rolexes with the repurposing of a vintage GMT Master II. Alleged to have originally released in the 1960s exclusively for the Royal British Army, this updated wristwatch continues to awe even the most novice of watch collectors. The made in Switzerland GMT Master II features a 904L stainless steel base with Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) matte black carbon coating, a Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC)-certified chronometer, a high-contrast display with luminous markers and a bidirectional rotating 24-hour graduated bezel. Further details include a layer of Diamond-Like Coating (DLC) for added strength, an oyster-styled bracelet with flat three-piece links, a Swiss automatic (self-winding) movement and acrylic crystal. Alcocer only made 50 of these beauties and retailer SSENSE was lucky enough to get its hands on number 48.

Baume & Mercier has been producing some pretty beautiful watches as of late and their new Clifton Dual Time is just one more great example of that. Elegant and sporty, the 43mm watch has a second time zone for travel and features an automatic movement with 42 hour power reserve.

Breitling continues to impress with its Transocean lineup and adds a new piece for the travel set, the Chronograph GMT. The watch comes in Steel or 18k red gold and features their Breitling B04 in-house automatic movement w/ 70 hour power reserve, 24-hour GMT time indication, chronograph subdials, and a 43mm case.

Tag Heuer’s Monaco Automobile Club De Monaco Black Edition isn’t quite the “Dark Lord” re-release that all you enthusiasts have been wanting for years, but who can complain about a shadowy version of one of the best Tag Heuers available? The watch is limited to 225 pieces.

JLC and Aston Martin are celebrating almost a decade of work together with their special edition watches and while the styles have been beautiful and incredibly impressive to say the least, their latest piece is probably our favorite and maybe the most in line with the prestigious marque’s styling. The Master Hometime Aston Martin, much like the cars, is both elegant and sporty with subtle details that still deliver a bold presence. Under the arched sapphire crystal lies a dual timezone dial, day/night function, and an automatic JLC 29-jewel in-house movement with a power reserve of up to 48 hours.

Alpina gets retro heavy for their latest watch, the 130 Heritage Pilot Chronograph. Using an automatic Alpina caliber AL-860 with a power reserve of up to 42 hours, the 41.5mm watch features an anti-reflective sapphire crystal, applied numerals, telemeter and tachymeter scale, and your choice of stainless steel or gold-plated stainless steel.

When you think of a watch with a moonphase, clean and minimalist isn’t exactly the first thing to come to mind. Dior’s new Chiffre Rouge C03 Moonphase loses the gloss and sometimes overly ornate qualities of your usual moonphase designs with simple and elegant styling that is backed by an automatic Zenith caliber Elite 691 movement which has a power reserve of up to 50 hours.

2013 marks the 60th anniversary of the famed Fifty Fathoms timepiece and Blancpain is commemorating this with the release of the new Bathyscape edition. The 43mm watch features Blancpain’s in-house 1315 automatic movement with a power reserve of up to 120 hours, a unidirectional Liquidmetal bezel, Anti Reflective coated sapphire, and it includes a triple-loop NATO strap with custom metal hardware.

Louis Vuitton continues to improve upon its watchmaking program every year and their latest debut at this year’s Baselworld is not to be ignored. Built for Yacht Racing, their Tambour Twin Chrono has a clean and beautifully laid out dial, an in-house 437 component monopusher chronograph movement, all wrapped in a 47mm white gold case and is limited to 30 pieces.

The new Omega Speedmaster “Dark Side of the Moon” just surfaced and before you ask, nope, that’s not a DLC/PVD coating you’re looking at. Better. That’s a 44mm case of black ceramic. Pushers and all. This may be in part due to the iconic brand’s long-standing legacy of great watches, evidenced by their latest and greatest edition of the Oyster Perpetual Yacht-Master II. Here we find an ice-cold chronograph deriving its silhouette from the precise demands of modern yachting. On the inside of the 44mm Oyster case ticks a self-winding mechanical regatta movement, that which controls the watch’s myriad technical features. Other highlights include a programmable countdown function within the bezel, stainless steel superalloy construction, and a screw-down winding crown.

Prepare for boating season by outfitting yourself with a proper timepiece like the Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean GMT timepiece. While the name might be a mouthful, the design is classically minimalist, with a blue dial and crown with orange accents. The Breva Genie 01 Timepiece may not be able to talk to your iPhone, but it can boast about being a world first. Thanks to an intricate design that packs multiple dials and instruments into a 44.7mm pink gold or white gold case, the Genie 01 can claim to be the first mechanical wristwatch to offer indicators for time, altimeter, barometer, and power reserve, all available at a single glance. Other features include an air pressure valve, a display back, and a hand-stitched alligator strap with case-matching buckle.

A military GMT chronograph inspired by a design specially created for the elite B2 “Stealth Bomber” Aircrew in 2012, British watchmaker Bremont has unveiled the ALT1-B2. Sporting a modified BE-54E movement and a Trip-Tick® case with a Roto-Click® internal bezel and black DLC case, the timepiece makes use of Bremont’s most advanced features. Accented with red hands and markers, the watch comes with either a black leather strap or a matching DLC steel bracelet and is the culmination of the Missouri-based squadron’s own input and design requests. According to Bremont co-founder Nick English: “Working on this project with the B2 crew could not have been more interesting, they knew exactly what they were trying to achieve which was great. They are a fascinating group of people, most of whom are MIT or Harvard graduates as far as I can work out, probably a prerequisite to fly a B2 ‘Stealth Bomber!’ The B2 watch was a huge success with the Squadron, it also received rapturous applause from civilian watch aficionados so we knew there was a strong demand for general release version, hence the introduction of the ALT1-B2 Chronograph.”
