With news still swirling regarding a possible unveiling of the PlayStation 4 at an already scheduled February 20 event, Sony now rolls out three new colors of their tried-and-true PlayStation 3. Seen for the first time in azurite blue, garnet red and white, they have utilized a slimmer design compared to previous versions, and will be offered in a 500GB hard drive format. The blue and red models will launch on February 15 with the white expected in stores on March 15.

It’s a fact: Ural makes beautiful, hardy, inventive motorcycles. The last time we mentioned them, they were introducing a bike with an integrated paddle; the time before that, we drove a beautiful sidecar bike through the snow of Seattle. This time, they’ve teamed up with Icon 1000, a company renowned for its armored motorcycle gear, and the resulting one-off Quartermaster is just as spectacular as past fare. The Quartermaster looks like a lean WWI Russian gunship that Mad Max would be proud to helm. Based on the Ural Solo sT, everything about this bike is Enduro tough. An oversized main spar and a high-clearance sub-frame give it a tall, heavy stance; an oversized fuel tank dwarfs the rest of the bike, and hand-formed fenders sneer from high above the Continental tires. There’s a full skid plate to take a beating from logs or whatever random road debris you crash through haphazardly.

With invitations already sent out to various tech tastemakers promising big news for a February 20 event, many speculate that Sony will be unveiling the PlayStation 4. The Wall Street Journal has in fact gone so far as to declare that the PlayStation 3 successor is exactly what we’re getting. This news coincides with confirmations of a next-generation console from Microsoft – with each platform looking to duke it out for a Holiday 2013 release in the marketplace. According to TechCrunch, “Rumors about what the console will actually look like so far include retaining an optical disc drive, said to be a concession made to ensuring that large-sized games are still convenient for customers to actually obtain and play, and a move from the Cell chip that powers the current PS3 to an AMD-based design, which might complicate things in terms of backwards compatibility with current games.” Stay tuned for further details as they surface.
