Land Rover Electric Defender Research Vehicle

The iconic and gas devouring Defender is indeed getting a new electric brother, but don’t expect this in showrooms anytime soon. Targeted for “specialist applications”, the Electric Defender Research Vehicle swaps out the diesel engine for a 70kw (94 hp) electric motor coupled up with a 300 volt lithium-ion battery that should power the car for a range of up to 50 miles. The car also maintains the four-wheel drive system and receives a tweaked version the company’s Terrain Response system.
