Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., the ABC television show about the comic-book universe’s espionage and law-enforcement agency, has surfaced online. The 30-second spot highlights Clark Gregg reprising his role as Agent Phil Coulson from Marvel’s feature films, including Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Thor and The Avengers (in which he dies). According to the show’s official site, Coulson assembles a small, highly trained team of agents to “tackle the cases that haven’t been classified yet — the new strange and the unknown.” Members of S.H.I.E.LD., or Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division, include: Agent Grant Ward (Brett Dalton), Agent Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen), Agent Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker) and Agent Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge). Directed and co-written by Joss Whedon of Buffy the Vampire Slayer fame, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. does not yet have a release date, although the promo, says it’s “coming soon.”

Early reports suggested that Tony Stark’s ladylove Pepper Potts (portrayed by Gwyneth Paltrow) would play a leading role in the upcoming Iron Man 3. But we may have underestimated how much of a presence she would have. The latest trailer for the action flick shows Potts wearing Tony’s suit as their home gets demolished. She appears to save his life when he’s about to get crushed by debris. “There were talks of Pepper getting in the suit at the end of Iron Man 2, but Marvel wasn’t ready to do it yet,” said Paltrow during Marvel’s Comic-Con panel. “I think in the comic books, she does eventually get into the suit and she has her own suit.”

Marvel Studios announced Friday that the trailer for “The Avengers”, one of the most anticipated films coming out next year, was downloaded over 10 million times in its first 24 hours on iTunes Movie Trailers. This is a new record for the most-viewed trailer in the site’s history .The trailer debuted October 11 exclusively on iTunes Movie Trailers and showed fans snippets of Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr.), Captain America (Chris Evans), The Incredible Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Nick Fury (Samuel Jackson) working together to save the world from the villain, Thor’s Frost Giant brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston).
